John Riley is an amateur musician and luthier whose journey with guitars started with a $12 Silvertone from the Sears catalog when he was seven years old. 
Fifteen years ago he acquired his first harp guitar and has since immersed himself in the instrument.

For the past eleven years, John has been presenting  Harp Guitars: A Musical Journey at schools, civic clubs and community centers across the Southeast. The presentation combines a media-enhanced history of the instruments with a live demonstration of five or more harp guitars, many of which are over 100 years old.
